Semi-structured Interview

At noon during saturday (yesterday) I conducted the interview. It was bright and sunny and there were a lot of people traveling with the ferry. I started with a pre-trip interview, conducted at the Slussen terminal. When the trip was over the a post-trip interview was conducted.

Warm-up phase:

Is this your first time traveling with the Stockholm ferries?

yes.

Main phase:

How familiar are you with Stockholm? (Indeed perhaps a bit vague , but it is of interest to see if the traveler knows of the surroundings that will be seen during the trip)

I’m a little bit familiar with Stockholm as I have been studying here for a while.

Follow up on the region surrounding the ferry route(Djurgården, Skeppsholmen, Stadskajen etc..)

Not so familiar with this area.

Why are you travelling with the ferry?

Actually we (travelling with friend) are going to visit the “Skansen”, and we wanted to take the boat because it was different.

What do you expect to see/experience on your trip with the ferry?

A little bit of Stockholm scenery and hopefully a bit of Swedish history.

Follow up on information regarding places of interests around Djurgården and Skeppsholmen.

I hope to see some animals in “Skansen”.

What are you interested in seeing/doing in Stockholm?

I like seeing historical landmarks.

Post-trip interview

Do you feel like the trip lived up to your expectations?

It was nice I could see a bit of djurgården.

What did you do during the trip?

Stood on deck and took pictures of the view.

What do you think could have made the trip even better?

I don’t know.

Do you own a smartphone?

yes.
